Three Tanks, One Crane, Ready on Arrival.
Factory-fitted ATLAS Mono chambers on a new petrol filling station build (Wefco Gainsborough and Toureen Group, UK)
The challenge
A new petrol filling station needed three underground
storage tanks lifted off the trailers and into the excavation. That means a
crane, an open dig and a busy site crew all working in the same space. In that
setting, every job left for the day adds time under the hook and one more thing
that can go wrong.
The solution
Wefco (Gainsborough) Ltd built the tanks with Berrys
ATLAS Mono chambers fitted at the factory, including the internals and
pipework. Because the Mono chamber is steel and welded directly to the tank, it
arrives as part of the tank, not as a separate component to be fixed on site.
Wefco went a step further and prepared each tank for the
lift itself, so nothing about the off-load was left to chance.
On site
SG Haulage delivered the tanks on time and in perfect
condition, and Toureen Group had the crane and crew ready before they arrived.
Safety led the job from the planning stage to the final install. Each tank
arrived with:
•
ATLAS Mono chambers,
internals and pipework already fitted
•
Support saddles for
quick positioning in the excavation
•
Pre-fitted lifting
strops for a safe, controlled off-load
All the crew had to do was lift, place and move on to the
next tank.
The result
Three tanks off-loaded and installed as planned, with no
chamber fitting left for the site team. Less time under the crane and fewer
variables in the excavation, on a site where both matter.
“Safety
was always at the forefront in the careful planning of this aspect of the PFS
construction.”
